rollover: a woman before and after airbrushing. look at th esubtitles differences which make the image look more appealing

With programs such as photoshop available it is easy to manipulate images and exaggerate features to much them more attractive and desirable, thus making the body unreal or unrealistic. If you look at the two examples above it will become clear. It is an example of a before and after and I’m sure you can tell which one was which. By hovering over the image you will be able to see the difference between how the image has been manipulated to look and how it originally looked. In this case there ae subtle differences however that is not always the case. The first and most obvious exaggeration is that of the breasts, her right arm has been moved to her right to expose more and thus putting the arm in an unrealistic position. The edge of the arm has been blurred by light so to not expose this moving of the arm. Also to exaggerate the breast region, shadows have been removed such as the necklace and behind the right arm to an extent. The skin is also being exaggerated by removing all of the imperfections. This also produces an unrealistic representation.

The image, undated, untitled and photographer unnamed contains a woman lieing down, leaning forward with an exposing white top. She is holding some sort of gadget that is I’m guessing what the image is advertising. The focal point or the point where the eyes are first drawn to is the centre of the image where the face chest and breasts are. The dark gadget is where the eyes are then drawn to next via the hair which is also dark. There is depth, the lighting, shadows produce this depth. The main colour is white. This is because it is seen as pure, making the woman pure and thus more desirable. Adding to this the woman also appears wealthy with the necklace and the long finger nails this is also more desirable.

The product is aimed at men which is the reason why the woman is used and the reasons behind the techniques used such as the breast exposure. The woman is also leaning towards the onlooker and appears to be looking staright into the eyes of the onlooker in order to make a connection. Again no movement is created.
