I studied Multimedia Technology and Design at the University of Kent where I picked up skills in in a wide variety of the aspects of Multimedia. Subjects as sparse as Web Design, Animation, Film-Making and 3D Modelling were covered. Web design and development is where my passion lies however.

Web Design and Development

My current skill set consists of skills learned over the past three years; some as part of the course as well as some extra-curricular. In the first year, HTML and CSS where covered in depth as well as the importance of conforming to WC3 Web Standards as well as the Web Accessibility Guidelines. JavaScript was briefly touched upon, and alongside XML, is a language that I have learnt to a greater extent in my own time.

The only web-related module in the second year involved Flash and ActionScript 3.0. This module was titled 'Digital Portfolio' and for this module I had to find an artist, and produce a portfolio for that artist.

The final year consisted of an introduction to ASP.NET in the form of the 'E-Commerce' module. My Final Year Project 'TopNotch Boxing' was also developed in ASP.NET and is where I really learned how to program with C#.

On top of scripting, markup and programming languages, my design skills, and, in particular my ability to use software like Adobe Photoshop, has developed immensely. This becomes clear when looking through past examples of work in chronological order.
